It always amazes me when people from outside
my little city or even my province email me about my work. It's even more
amazing when I receive emails from other Canadian provinces and the
USA. Last month, I've
received an email from a complete stranger in Venezuela -- that's a long way from Dieppe, New
Brunswick!
The
email was written in broken English because his first language is Spanish, but I
managed to get the gist of it. The email basically said that he and his brother
are recent graduates with Engineering degrees, but they can't find jobs because
of the current political and economic situation in their country. They were
really going through hard times, so they turned to art as a way to express
themselves and focus on the positive. They searched the internet for some
inspiration and landed on my site. We exchanged a few emails, and he explained
how my art and my site are inspiring them. They've even read every newsletter
I've ever written!
His
email really touched me. And it also reminded me that focusing on the positive
in a bad situation is the key to success. Life will always throw you curve balls
-- it's how you react that's important. As a thank you, Ernesto included a
picture of one of his paintings, which I'm sharing with you today. Good luck,
Ernesto!!
Sincerely,
Matt
