Home Staging is a great way to prepare a private house for sale and it has increased in popularity over the years.  Home Stagers are professionals who can re-arrange a home to appeal to the broadest range of potential buyers. A staged home not only increases the overall home appeal, but it may also help the buyers to move in mentally.

According to the Seaking Aplha website, home staging is the fifth most important thing to do to get the best return on your investment when selling a home.  Simple stuff like buying fresh flowers, hanging a few decorations and of course original artwork can go a long way to spruce up your home.  The number one thing to do in case you are wondering is de-cluttering.  Yes those fully filled closets will not help to sell your home.

Over the last year, I had many conversations with realtors about the importance of original art in a home when it's listed on the market.   Having artwork strategically placed in various rooms of the house will definitely help you out with your listing.  There's always an emotional connection to a home and buyers want to picture themselves in the space before buying it.  If the walls are empty, it will lack emotion and may not bring the wow factor you would expect from your home.

I had the chance to take part in many home staging over the years.    Each project is different and the cost to rent artwork is based on the size as well as the amount of pieces needed.  A good ballpark price is $50 per medium size painting and if the painting sells with the house, there's no cost to the renter.  It's a win/win situation!

Updates on the Art for Life campaign
Objective: To Create 200 paintings in 6 months raising over $25,000 for the fight against cancer.  Please click HERE to learn more.

T-minus 17 days until the start of my campaign.  I've been busy planning this project and putting the details together.  For whatever reason, I don't feel too stressed about it.  I'm sure when I officially start and I realize that creating one artwork a day is insane, I might have a few panic attacks.  All jokes aside, I'm definitely looking forward to this project.  I had the pleasure of ordering all the necessary material last month.  It was like putting my Christmas wish list together.  The only drawback is that Santa processed everything on my Visa.  I've ordered over 25 gallons of paint.  Yup!! 25 GALLONS!!! That's a lot of paint.  I also ordered my 200 canvases, which should be done next week.  I went for a quick visit to my local supplier and they are well on their way to have them done and delivered on time.  There's about 6o in the picture below so I will have more then 3 times that amount when they're all done.

I'm listing below a few technical details about this campaign.  I will actively blog about my experience on my site so make sure you check there often to be kept in the loop on my journey to raise $25,000.  I will also have many videos as well showcasing the process and the new art available for sale.  Hopefully you guys will support this massive endeavor!!

Logistics:
All paintings created will be available to purchase right away from my website.  However, all the 200 paintings will only be released to the public after the Art for Life gala in September 2010.

Timing:
From and including: Wednesday, March 24, 2010 to, but not including: Friday, September 24, 2010.  That's 184 days from the start date to the end date or 6 months.

Objective: 200 paintings completed within the 6 months period.

Size: All the paintings will be 2 feet wide x 2 feet tall (24"x24") and painted on professional gallery style canvas ( 1 ½" thick)

Artwork value:  Each painting will be selling for $150.

Campaign Goal:  The goal is to raise $25,000 (net profit after all cost)
